{"id":2052,"date":"2015-07-03T09:42:04","date_gmt":"2015-07-03T09:42:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/my-brains.co.uk\/jackross\/?p=2052"},"modified":"2015-06-30T13:47:17","modified_gmt":"2015-06-30T13:47:17","slug":"flexible-working-not-advertised-during-recruitment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/my-brains.co.uk\/jackross\/flexible-working-not-advertised-during-recruitment\/","title":{"rendered":"Flexible working not advertised during recruitment"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Employers could be missing out on top talent by not advertising flexible working arrangements during recruitment, a report by Timewise has suggested.<\/h3>\n<p>The jobs board found that 6% of all jobs offering a salary between \u00a320,000 and \u00a329,999 advertise flexible working arrangements during recruitment.<\/p>\n<p>Higher salaried jobs were less likely to offer flexible work:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3% of jobs worth \u00a340,000- \u00a399,999 advertised flexible work<\/li>\n<li>2% of jobs worth between \u00a3100,000 and \u00a3199,999 offered flexibility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Changes to employment law in June 2014 allowed employees with at least 26 weeks&#8217; continuous employment to apply for flexible working arrangements. Flexible working encompasses different working patterns such as flexitime, place of work and shift work.<\/p>\n<p>The report said employers should emphasise flexible working options during recruitment to ensure they attract the best talent:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Employers are cutting themselves off from a proportion of the candidate market by not stating their openness to flexibility in their recruitment advertising. These &#8216;lost&#8217; candidates include some of the very best available talent.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>The benefits of flexible work<\/h3>\n<p>Allowing staff more freedom in determining their work-life balance often results in happier, more productive employees.
